On December 18th, 2002, Japanese superstar Ayumi Hamasaki released her fifth full length album, RAINBOW. The CD was quite appropriately titled: the album showcases a rainbow of different sounds, subjects, and feelings throughout the sixteen songs featured. Much to her fans' delight, the album debuted at number one on the Japanese Oricon charts, selling over 1.8 million copies in one week. With songs ranging from the upbeat and empowering "Real me", to the somber and reminiscent "HANABI", fans of Ayumi were truly pleased with this release.
